Storyblocks

Storyblocks are used to tell a story, or inform a user, along the trail and are triggered when users are entering a trigger area.

Storyblock can be shared along different storytrails. You can create storyblocks from the main menu, and attach the storyblock to a storytrail or create one while you making a storytrail.

Create or edit a storyblock from the overview screen​

  • in the left menu, click on 'Storyblocks' menu item, you now get an overview of all storyblocks.
  • click in the top menu on 'Add a storyblock' to create a new storyblock, or select in the overview to edit an existing one.

The storyblock editor is now shown.

Edit the common attributes​

In the left panel give the storyblock the common attributes. Note that 'name' is required!!

  • name which is used in overviews in the app and for selection within the cms
  • locale which language is the storyblock
  • 'in library', if not active it is not shown in selection dialogs. Deactivate if you want a storyblock for just one trail.
  • Location (optional) if the storyblock is one that specific location. If it has a location you can select it from the map in the trail editor.
  • copyrights (optional)
  • tags(optional) for quick selection
  • additional properties (optional) for selecting open/close periods. Storyblocks with open/close periods are only show in the app if it has a valid period.

Edit the content of a storyblock​

In the middle pane you create/edit the content of a storyblock. A storyblock is created with different kind of blocks.

You can append blocks at the end by clicking on the '+' button at the bottom, or you can insert a block between two storyblocks, also clicking on the '+' button.

You can add the following types of content

  • Rich content
  • Image
  • Image gallery
  • Audio
  • Video
  • Multipe choice question

These are 'older' types, they are replaced with the rich content editor, so it's advised not to use them anymore.

  • Heading
  • Heading2
  • Paragraph

Delete a block​

Click on the 'thrash' icon, in the panel in the top of a block to remove a block.

Rich content​

After selection 'rich content' in the '+' menu a rich content block is appended or inserted. An inline editor is shown, and you can add text and style the text with the menu above the editor.

  • Headings H1, H2, H3
  • Give text underline/bold/italics/strikethrough properties
  • Add lists
  • Add quotes
  • Add links outside, for link outside a webbrowser is started
  • Add links to other storyblocks.

Image​

After selection 'image' in the '+' menu, you get an image block. Click on 'Select image' to select the image.

After selection 'image gallery' in the '+' menu, you get an image gallery block. Click on 'Add image' to add image to the gallery.

Video​

After selection image in the '+' menu, you get a video block. Click on 'Select video' to select the video.

Multiple choice question​

After selection 'Multiple choice question' in the '+' menu, you get a multiple choice question block.

Fill in the question with minimal two answers, you can append more answers by clicking on the '+' sign within the multiple choice block.

Preview the content of a storyblock​

In the right pane you can preview the content of the storyblock. Note that it's to give you an impression.
